We can't take our wealth and belongings to the grave, so this piece represents letting go of that deathgrip on our vanity and embracing the things in life that can bring joy and happiness. Chanel is an icon, something that has transcended fashion and is a status symbol for luxury, wealth and glamour, but it is this reason that I chose a bottle of chanel no 5 in this work. It transcends the message and even with the skeleton hand holding a deathgrip on it, the perfume still holds on to a level of luxury, even in death.
