Skullerflies represent transition. A metamorphosis from negative to positive, pain to freedom.
The best works of art stem from an emotional journey and explore the spectrum of emotions we all face but the artist's challenge is to capture this narrative in a piece that allows others to feel something when they see it.
Pain, heartache, and negativity can be turned into positivity, beauty, and love but it is the ability to embrace both that is important. I want the Skullerflies to represent the importance of taking something painful and using that as fuel to create change and beauty in someone's life.
To turn that energy into something positive and release it into the world through art, music, poetry or whatever someones creative release is and inspire others is my goal for the Skullerflies.
It is an expression of freedom and release combined with the macabre to complete the balance that is needed in life. The Skullerflies are the Yin and the Yang, the dark and the light, the pain and the love together in one delicate, fleeting creature.
