This Reflections piece has been created on canvas, street art walls, silk screen prints, NFTs and now these foil editions. Inspired by all of the previous variations of this piece, I have created 13 different pieces in the lenses like the NFT collection, in 4 different shiny foil colours that play on popular colours from previous works with red, pink, gold and rainbow.
Between the Capes, my painting of Superman kissing Batman was first created for my show Kryptonite in 2014. I wanted to challenge peoples views on love and same sex intimacy by making you question whether we should judge people on their actions more than their sexuality. Superman and Batman spend their lives trying to help people and it is this which we should focus on and judge them by. Their personal life should be just that, they have earned the right to love whoever they want to love and not be judged on that alone. If you were in danger and someone was coming to save your life, whether its a superhero or someone from the emergency services, you aren't going to turn down help based on their personal life choices. If we can focus more on how people act in society and less on their personal beliefs and choices, the world would be a kinder place with more love in it. Love wins, whoever you choose to love and respect and kindness can be a super power.
