Celebrity and influence is often reserved for those who have achieved great things. This is why we see titans of business, film, politics and sport gracing the cover of magazines. The problem is that this position is usually reserved for men. For a woman to achieve a similar level of notoriety and be considered for a magazine cover, they usually have to be sexualised in some capacity. This is why I chose to use Wonder Woman as Playmate of the Year on the cover of Playboy, because for all of the incredible things she does to save people, in order to get a cover shoot, she has to be sexualised to get noticed. I want to celebrate everyone for their achievements equally and this is my way of pointing out the over sexualisation of the media and society by taking it into the realm of the superhero.
